Interpretive Summary: This tool is designed for producers considering the purchase of a new towed implement for use in their farming operation. The power requirements for utilization of the implement will depend on the size of the implement and its purpose. This spreadsheet tool is designed so that the user will be able to select an implement from a list provided, and the recommended power unit (tractor/combine/UTV) needed for the implement will be shown along with other useful general information. In addition, the total cost for the operation of the implement (along with the tractor) is presented. The total cost is presented on a "per acre" basis and can be used to measure the potential profitability of an operation to help the producer make informed decisions regarding changes in their farming operations.
