Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This presentation provides an update on the Regional Soil Health Testing for SHAPE project funded by the NRCS Soil Health Division. Overall, soil sampling has been initiated in 16 states, with 713 management surveys completed, 358 fields sampled, and 634 samples collected -- representing approximately 5% of the expected 13000 total samples. In-house soil processing and analysis is proceeding. The five current SHAPE soil health indicators are the top priority in order to provide a soil health report back to the participating farmers as soon as possible. The remaining soil analyses will proceed when contracts are in place. Another 10 western states will be opened to farmers soon.
