Technical Abstract: This is a book review of Moths of the World, A Natural History by David L. Wagner. It consists of two major parts: The Introduction, a little over a third of the book, is a succinct summary of moth biology and ecology, and Taxon Profiles that include outstanding images of moths that were carefully chosen to synchronize with the text. Each profile has a general, three-paragraph description, and a box at the bottom with a world map for its Distribution, Important Genera, Habitat, and Host Associations. Adjoining this box is a short section on the Characteristics of this group. The author has imparted a prodigious amount of information in what appears to be a thumbnail for each of the many superfamilies.
