Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Understanding insect vector behavior is critical for the effective management of insect-vectored plant pathogens. Efforts are currently underway to screen various insecticides for behavioral effects on aphids and their interactions with potato plants relative to the transmission of potato leafroll virus (PLRV). Our goal is to identify additional chemical management options for the prevention or reduction of PLRV infection in potato production. This talk will provide an update on insecticides which demonstrably decrease virus transmission and the associated behavioral mechanisms.
