Interpretive Summary: In 2021 the United States produced 101,000 tons of olives with a value of $85 million dollars. Some snout moth species are known to feed on the olive plant family. This paper describes two new species of snout moths from the Dominican Republic that are related to 166 other species in the world. Information about these new species will be used in the United States by state extension entomologists and APHIS quarantine staff to identify potential invasive species.

Technical Abstract: Two striking new species of Palpita Hübner, 1808 are described from the Dominican Republic as P. hispaniolaensis Landry & Solis sp. nov. and P. maribelae Landry; Solis sp. nov. The male and female morphological characters of their habitus and genitalia are illustrated.
