Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Pests attacking stressed trees are typically hard, if not impossible, to manage. Many stresses on trees are undetectable until pests are attracted to, and attack, these trees. However, bark wounds can also be attractive to certain pests. The primary management approach for these pests attacking pecan is to maintain healthy trees. Vigorous, healthy trees will be more productive and can alleviate several pest problems that otherwise difficult to manage.
