REV infection has recently been associated with several "new" issues of economic importance. Two issues addressed are (1) lymphomas induced in broiler breeders vaccinated with an REV-contaminated fowlpox vaccine and (2) maintenance of breeder flocks seronegative for REV for export. A new syndrome in broilers where the lesions contain reticuloendothelial cells and where REV has been falsely incriminated as the etiological agent is also presented. |
