Interpretive Summary: This report presents the nucleotide whole genome sequence of African swine fever that was circulating in Uganda during the 2023 outbreaks. This is the first report of any sequence in this area during this time.

Technical Abstract: African swine fever virus is endemic to Uganda. Here we report the genome of ASFV-898, an isolate that was collected from Uganda in 1964.
