Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: A male moth of Herpetogramma stramineata (Hampson) (Crambidae: Spilomelinae) was collected in Miami, Florida, and is a new continental record for the United States. The species identification was based on comparison with a photograph of the type specimen from the Natural History Museum, London. The adult specimen was compared morphologically after it was CO1 barcoded and shown to be the same species as a Costa Rican species reared on Asteraceae.
