Interpretive Summary: Laboratory sample preparation often requires high throughput homogenization of samples. Current commercially available devices are expensive and limited to small quantities of samples. This 3D printed device securely holds 15 mL tubes and allows orbital shakers to be converted into high throughput vortexers. Additionally, the rack is free-standing and can be used for organizing samples in other formats such as ice buckets. This tool simplifies laboratory sample management and allows equipment to be retrofitted for new purposes. Expensive homogenization attachments for sample mixers can be replaced with this device.

Technical Abstract: This tube rack holds 15 mL conical tubes and snaps firmly into a 8x6 PoxyGrid rack for 50 mL tubes. The rack can effectively convert an orbital shaker into a vortexer by combining the 3D printed rack with an 8x6 PoxyGrid rack and installing it onto an orbital shaker using washers and screws. The rack is also free-standing and ideal for organizing 15 mL tubes in ice buckets. Material: PLA Supports: N/A Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 15%
