Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: At the request of the American Floral Endowment, a whitefly control update was provided for growers with guidelines for a good whitefly management program with two goals in mind. First to help growers to produce a high quality, salable crop for the final consumer and second, to preserve the chemical tools that agriculture uses to manage whitefies. A step by step guide for what commercial growers should be doing to control whiteflies is presented. Alternatives to neonicotinoids that have been evaluated with success include afidopyropen, pyrifloquinazon, flupyradifurone and cyantraniliprole and links are provided for individual efficacy trial results along with the link for the continually updated whitefly management program which is always available online.
