Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: “Candidatus Liberibacter spp.” are a group of non-culturable alpha-proteobacteria associated with several economically important plant diseases, such as citrus Huanglongbing (HLB) and potato zebra chip (ZC) disease. Because of the non-culturable nature, research on these pathogens is difficult. This chapter is a practical laboratory guide for research of the currently known “Candidatus Liberibacter spp.” It will benefit all research in the field of bacteriology, plant pathology, and vector entomology.
