Draft Genome Sequence of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica Serovar Blockley Strain CRJJGF_00147 (Phylum Gammaproteobacteria). Genome Announcements. 4(5): e00954-16.
Interpretive Summary: Salmonella enterica is a foodborne pathogen that can contaminate a wide variety of food items and can causes gastroenteritis in humans. Salmonella serovar Blockley is only rarely isolated from humans, food, or during an outbreak. However, S. Blockley was reported in unpasteurized egg yolks used in the preparation of the ice cream leading to an outbreak. Here, we announce the draft genome sequence of S. Blockley strain CRJJGF_00147 isolated from a chicken carcass rinse in 2009. To our knowledge this is the first genome sequence of serovar Blockely made publicly available to the scientific community.
Technical Abstract: Here, we report a 4.72 Mbp draft genome sequence of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Blockley strain CRJJGF_00147, isolated from chicken rinse in 2009.
