Interpretive Summary: The full genome of Tropical soda apple mosaic virus (TSAMV) isolated from tropical soda apple in Florida is presented. First reported from tropical soda apple collected in Florida in 2002, TSAMV has been continuously observed in this and related plants since that time. Several partial sequences of TSAMV are publicly available but a complete genome sequence has been lacking until this report. The TSAMV full genome sequence presented will enable further ecological and epidemiological studies, and also the development of additional diagnostic tests.

Technical Abstract: Tropical soda apple mosaic virus (TSAMV) was first identified in tropical soda apple (Solanum viarum), a noxious weed, in Florida in 2002. This report provides the first full genome sequence of TSAMV. The full genome sequence of this virus will enable research scientists to develop additional specific diagnostic tests for TSAMV. The sequence will also facilitate additional surveys, and further ecological and epidemiological studies of this virus, by regulatory scientists.
