Interpretive Summary: Wells provide a water source free of Phytophthora species, therefore can be used to water high value plant selections or selections more susceptible to these pathogens. However, water quality still needs to be measured, so good decisions can be made about usage on plants. If well water is used to fill ponds, consider building a separate pond filled solely by wells and rainfall, and no run-off water.
