Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Insecticide droplets will impact the mosquito body, but little is known about the interaction of these droplets to a mosquito as it is flying through the air. Droplets of insecticide were applied to the mosquito body in order to determine if a droplet of insecticide will kill a mosquito when it comes in contact with specific parts of the mosquito body. Additionally, these applications were conducted at various ages as well to determine if age influenced the mosquito’s susceptibility to insecticide at specific body regions. Our results indicate that the age and location where droplets will impact does influence the effectiveness of the pesticide.
