Citation: Wei Pridgeon, Y., Zhang, D., Zhang, L. 2014. Complete genome sequence of the highly virulent Aeromonas hydrophila AL09-71 isolated from disease channel catfish from West Alabama. Genbank. Accession No. CP007566.1.
Technical Abstract: The highly virulent Aeromonas hydrophila isolate AL09-71 was cultured from infected channel catfish during the 2009 disease outbreak in West Alabama. The complete genome of this highly virulent Aeromonas hydrophila isolate AL09-71 is 5,023,861 bp in size. The genome has 4489 coding sequences, 11 copies of 5S RNA, 10 copies of 16S RNA, and 10 copies of 23S RNA. The annotation of the genome is added by the NCBI Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline. The publishing of this genome will allow comparative genomics to identify genes associated with virulence to understand pathogenesis. The availability of this complete genome will also facilitate the discovery of immunogens to aid the development of novel strategies to prevent disease caused by Aeromonas hydrophila.
