Interpretive Summary: The caterpillars of moths commonly known as leaf-rollers are important pests of ornamental, forest, and crop plants, causing billions of dollars in damage annually. We correct the scientific names of two fruit-feeding leaf-roller moths from Africa that are closely related to the false codling moth - a pest of considerable quarantine significance worldwide. This information will be useful to pest managers and action agencies such as USDA-APHIS, whose responsibilities include the exclusion of invasive pest at U.S. ports-of-entry.

Technical Abstract: We propose two new combinations in Thaumatotibia: T. colasi (Guillermet, 2006), new combination, and T. destrumeli (Guilermet, 2006), new combination. Both species are endemic to Reunion Island, and both were described in Cryptophlebia. We also present an updated list of the 14 described species of Thaumatotibia known from the Afrotropical Region with comments on their geographic distribution and host plants.
