Interpretive Summary: Seed is one of the most important factors in sugarbeet production. Seed selection is one of the most important decisions a grower can make. Without a uniform plant population of a sugarbeet variety adapted to the growing region, the producer will have difficulty achieving economical crop production. A careful examination of sugarbeet seed, the seed germination process, and the development of sugarbeet varieties can be helpful in making crop management decisions and improving crop profitability.
