Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, remains a primary ectoparasite concern in many dog kennels, shelters and residential homes. Challenges such as effective pesticide delivery and pesticide resistance confound control efforts. Use of biological control approaches such as fungal pathogens provide a opportunity for effective control with reduced use of pesticides. I n this study, various formulations and strains of fungal pathogens were evaluated against brown dog ticks and the most effective treatments will be discussed in the context of development of new pest management strategies against this species.
