Interpretive Summary: The caterpillar-like larvae of sawflies are all plant feeders and can cause extensive damage to agricultural crops, forests, and ornamental plantings. One subfamily includes species displaying various habits, including external leaf feeders, leaf miners, and gall formers. A number of them, such as the larch sawfly, blueberry sawfly, pear sawfly, and apple sawfly, accidentally have been introduced into the United States. Nine species of this subfamily, eight of which are new to science, were collected during a biodiversity study in Thailand. The species are described and illustrated, and an identification key is given. This substantially increases our knowledge of southeastern Asian species of this subfamily and will be of interest to scientists, anyone interested in plant-feeding insects, and APHIS personnel who identify interceptions from Asia.

Technical Abstract: Nine species in five genera of Nematinae are recorded from Thailand: Trichiocampus namtokensis, n. sp., Dineura sharkeyi, n. sp., Moricella rueaensis, n. sp., Nematus saodaoi, n. sp., Pristiphora chalybeata Benson, P. ettera, n. sp., P. inthanoni, n. sp., P. annetna, n. sp., and P. phahompoki, n.sp. A key is given for the genera and species of Thailand. New records and description of the male are given for P. borneensis Forisus from Sabah, Malaysia, and a new record is given for P. sinensis Wong from China.
