Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This document provides GRACEnet guidelines for sampling plant shoots and roots with additional guidelines and references for determining plant quality. Plant biomass including rhizodeposition provides the majority of net primary production that fuels above- and below-ground ecosystems. Thus, high caliber plant data is invaluable for preparing carbon budgets and improving C and N processes model and is valuable for understanding and predicting processes such as decomposition and N-cycling.
