Rhipicephalus microplus strain Deutsch, 10 BAC clone sequences. National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Interpretive Summary: The cattle tick, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, has a genome over 2.4 times the size of the human genome, and with over 70% of repetitive DNA, this genome would prove very costly to sequence at today's prices and difficult to assemble and analyze. We used labeled DNA probes from the coding regions of protein coding regions of interest to isolate 10 BAC clones from the R. microplus BAC library 1 from the Deutsch strain. These BACs were sequenced and assembled with BAC clone Accession Numbers HM748958-HM748967.
