Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Bikavarin is a chemical produced by a variety of fungi in grains produced for human and livestock consumption. The compound has been shown to have a wide range of biological activity in several organisms. However, there has been a lack of convenient techniques for the analysis of bikavarin in grain. Here we demonstrate the use of liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry for the quantitative analysis of bikavarin from corn.
