Interpretive Summary: Oklahoma sedge (Carex oklahomensis) is native to Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. This sedge was discovered new from several states within the past two decades. Oklahoma sedge is reported new for Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana and new for 3 counties in Mississippi. It is being spread in contaminated hay and seeds of acceptable grasses used for erosion control at construction sites. Currently, this weed is restricted to sites of introduction.

Technical Abstract: Carex oklahomensis is reported new for Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana, and new records are presented for Mississippi. Habitat and species associates are presented for each new distribution point accompanied by speculation as to the origin of these populations.
