Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: For commercial success, a recirculating aquaculture operation must maintain fish at densities far greater than normally found in nature. At the same time, the producer must maintain an environment that supports good fish health. This chapter discusses various aspects of fish health management, including principles and practices of biosecurity, disease diagnosis and treatment, and shipping fish to a laboratory for a diagnosis. A biosecurity checklist and example treatment calculations are also included.
