The need for sunflower genetic research is ever increasing with more insect and disease problems nationwide. Combined with a renewed interest in drought tolerance of crops in the central plains, there is much work that can be done. The presentation focused on these research needs, and I discussed how we, with the assistance of our customers and stakeholders, can meet the needs of the sunflower industry in the United States in the years to come.
