Phase Transition Behavior of Novel Soybean Oil-based Thermosensitive Polymers [abstract]. American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Annual Meeting & Expo, November 16-20, 2008, Atlanta, GA. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: The thermal phase transition behavior of novel soybean oil-based polymers was studied. The effect of polymer concentration on the cloud points was investigated. The light transmittance increased sharply with increasing temperature suggesting dissociation of polymer aggregates. The cloud points were higher for the epoxidized polymer but insensitive to polymer concentrations. In this work, we focused on the investigation of thermal phase transition behavior of hydrolyzed polymers of (epoxidized) soybean oil and exploitation of their application in the thermoresponsive drug delivery. |
