Interpretive Summary: Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a condition characterized by infiltration of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, into the tissues of the gastrointestinal tract. This is a report of a rare complication of this condition where the inflammation caused by the eosinophils blocks the outlet of the stomach and causes severe vomiting. The patient was treated with steroids and improved without surgery. The general topic of eosinophilic gastroenteritis also was reviewed.

Technical Abstract: Gastric outlet obstruction is a rare complication of eosinophilic gastroenteritis, most commonly treated surgically. We report a case of eosinophilic gastric outlet obstruction in a child that responded to conservative medical management. A brief review of this clinical entity is also provided.
