"Gene". editor. North American Agroforestry: An Integrated Science and Practice. 2nd edition. Madison, WI: American Society of Agronomy. p. 105-132. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Grazing of forested ecosystems has been practiced in North America since the beginning of recorded time. There has been increased interest in developing sustainable grazing practices for such ecosystems in recent years. Existing research data were summarized in the first edition of the book “North American Agroforestry: An Integrated Science and Practice” that was published in 2000. However since that time, significant additions in the sciences underlying forest grazing and silvopastures have occurred. The chapter on silvopasture practices in the updated second edition of book “North American Agroforestry: An Integrated Science and Practice” will document these advances in a format that will be of use to scientists and land managers. |
