Greenhouse Product News. December 2005. 15(13):18-20. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: This article gives the background to the recent invasion of the USA by the Q biotype Bemisia tabaci. It also describes recent results comparing the efficacy of insecticides against the B and Q biotypes of this important pest whitefly. Both biotypes are controllable with pesticides, although there are differences in susceptibility between them. The authors encourage accurate identification of the infesting whiteflies before embarking on a control strategy that might not be effective because the product efficacy is not good against that particular biotype. |
