Interpretive Summary: Alturas is a multi-purpose potato variety released by the Agricultural Research Service and the agricultural experiment stations of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington in 2002. Originally developed for use by the dehydration industry, Alturas has since been adopted for use in the production of frozen potato products as well, and is the seventh most widely-grown potato variety in the United States. This publication provides data and recommendations concerning the storage management of this variety to optimize the quality of its processed products.
