Citation: Yeh, H. 2006. C DNA sequence of channel catfish peroxiredoxin 6 gene. Genbank.

Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Peroxiredoxin 6 gene (Prdx6) of channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, was cloned and sequenced. Total RNA from channel catfish tissues was isolated, reverse transcribed and amplified. The sequence of the channel catfish Prdx6 gene consists of 1003 nucleotides. Analysis of the nucleotide sequence reveals one open reading frame and 5’- as well as 3’-untranslated regions. The open reading frame potentially encodes 223 amino acids with a calculated molecular mass of 24.6 kDa.
