Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: This presentation will feature a discussion how the use of insecticides can be optimized through integrated pest management. The primary and major secondary pests of stored grains will be presented as targets for insecticidal control. Current registered insecticides that are used for the various phases of stored grain management, such as pre-binning control, grain protectants, control during storage, and combination treatments as a part of integrated control will be presented and discussed in detail using data from selected research topics to illustrate concepts and major discussion points. The session will conclude with a discussion of potential new registrations, pitfalls to registration, and prospects for the future. |
