Citation: Reinert, J.F. 2005. Redescription of the holotype of ochlerotatus eatoni edwards, 1916 (diptera: culicidae: aedini). European Mosquito Bulletin.

Interpretive Summary: The original description of Ochlerotatus eatoni by Edwards (1916) was based on the single holotype specimen, is very brief, and lacks most details of its morphology, thus making it impossible to identify field collected specimens. This is evident because since 1916 the species has been cited in the literature only four times. The present paper provides mosquito control workers a complete description of the holotype of this species which will aid in its identification. This work was completed at the Center for Medical, Agricultural and Veterinary Entomology of the United States Department of Agriculture. The article will be published in the Journal of the European Mosquito Control Association.

Technical Abstract: A detailed description of the morphology for the holotype male of Oc. eatoni is provided.
