Long-term effect of fumigant and herbicide combinations in bell pepper. Proceedings of International Research Conference on Methyl Bromide Alternatives and Emissions Reductions. p. 52-1. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Four field trials were conducted between spring 2001 and fall 2002 to determine the effect of combinations of soil fumigants and herbicides on bell pepper. All of the trials were repeated in the same plots. Soil fumigants included methyl bromide (67:33 methyl bromide:chloropicrin), 1, 3-dichloropropene (Telone C-35 and Inline formulations), metam sodium (Vapam and Vapam plus chloropicrin) and an untreated control. Herbicides included napropamide, trifluralin and an untreated check. There were no fumigant by herbicide interactions. All fumigants resulted in similar yields and trifluralin use resulted in the highest yielding herbicide application. |
