Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: A phylogenetic study of A. suspensa in Florida has been initiated to provide information on genetic diversity of A. suspensa populations. A mitochondrial genome sequence comparison strategy will be used to compare mitochondrial Cytochorome Oxidase I, II, and III sequences. These regions were chosen based on published studies demonstrating their utility in detection of genetic diversity within populations of Drosophila. Phylogenetic relationships inferred from maximum likelihood and Bayesian analyses of A. suspensa will be presented.
