Technical Abstract: Marek's disease (MD), a herpesvirus induced neoplastic disease of primarily chickens, is approaching its 100th year of recorded history. Many reports have been published, most of them since 1970 after elucidation of its etiology and production of the first vaccines. This paper reviews briefly some past accomplishments and addresses issues yet to be resolved and what one can expect in the future.
