It provides guidelines on how to maintain postharvest quality by optimizing harvesting, postharvest handling, and storage conditions. Specifically, the recommendations include prompt washing and hydro-cooling to below 5 degrees C, high moisture content to prevent desiccation during storage, and avoiding exposure to ethylene etc. In addition, it also provides for processing and storage of fresh-cut carrots.
