Long-term soil temperature database, reynolds creek experimental watershed, Idaho, USA. Water Resources Research 37:2843-2846. Interpretive Summary: We describe long term soil water data collected at the Reynolds Creek Experimental Watershed (RCEW) using neutron probe. Data were collected for 10 to 25 years at eighteen sites representing different climatic regimes and soils in the RCEW. Soil profile data are also available for model parameterization. Change in soil water determined from neutron probe were correlated with corresponding lysimeter measurements to assess the probe accuracy at depicting soil-water content change. Routine calibrations using manufactured standards proved to be accurate. Cross-calibrations of different instruments were considered but shown to be of small significance. These data are available to the public via the USDA-ARS Northwest Watershed Research Center anonymous ftp site ftp.nwrc.ars.usda. gov.
