Publication Type: Abstract Only Publication Acceptance Date: 8/1/2001 Publication Date: N/A Citation: N/A Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: This study was designed to evaluate the effect of trenchless drain plow and trench methods of tile installation on water table depths and subsurface drain flows. Additional data were also collected to evaluate the water quality benefits from different methods of tile installation. Field experiments were conducted from 1980 to 1998 to make comparisons between the plow and trencher methods of subsurface drain installation on the hydraulic performance of subsurface drains. Long-term data were collected on water table depths, subsurface drain flows, drain water quality, and hydraulic conductivity of the soil as affected by the method of installation. This paper will present data and make comparisons between the methods of tile installation. |
