Technical Abstract: This is a brief report on history of grain crops production and their importance as crops. Grain crops of the world include the food grains - rice and wheat - and the coarse grains - corn, barley, rye, oats, millets, sorghum, and buckwheat. Except for buckwheat, all grain crops are grasses.
