Interpretive Summary: This report summarizes the rainfall data (1976-1999) collected at the Water Resources and Erosion (WRE) watersheds at the USDA-ARS Grazinglands Research Laboratory, El Reno, Oklahoma. It provides a brief description of the instrumentation and data collection, and displays plots of the daily, monthly and annual precipitation data. The WRE watersheds are a source of data for various research projects and the precipitation data presented in this report are shared between research projects. The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the precipitation data to scientists, collaborators and managers for research, planning and management of the WRE watersheds.

Technical Abstract: Belford rain gages were installed at the Water Resources and Erosion (WRE) watersheds at the USDA-ARS Grazinglands Research Laboratory in 1976. In 1998 four additional Met One rain gages were installed adjacent to the existing Belford gages. This report provides a brief description of the instrumentation and data collection, as well as a summary of the rainfall data. The purpose of this report is to share the precipitation data with scientists, collaborators and managers for research, planning and management of the WRE watersheds. Plots for the daily, monthly and annual rainfall are provided for all gages. Also tables of actual data are provided for monthly and annual rainfall at all gages. Finally, a plot of the mean and the median monthly rainfall shows that the rainfall distribution from January through December is bi-modal and that monthly rainfall values have large year-to-year variability.
