With this tool, users can explore how different lease agreements impact their operation based on production expenses and price and yield data. The Cropland Rental Tool and accompanying User Manual are available for download.

Technical Abstract: This article describes the Cropland Rental Tool (CROPRENT), which is an Excel-based decision tool for comparing different cropland lease agreements, including flexible cash rents, for up to five crops and/or management systems. Flexible cash rents allow tenants and landowners to share in the risk associated with volatile commodity prices and uncertain yields. With this tool, users can explore how different lease agreements impact their operation based on current production expenses and historical, expected, and actual price, yield, and revenue data. The Cropland Rental Tool and accompanying User Manual are available for download.
