Spodoptera frugiperda corn-strain haplotypes in the Cytochorme Oxidase subunit I gene. National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Public Database. Accession numbers:JN573287-JN573290 Interpretive Summary: The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, is a major agricultural pest of corn, forage grasses, rice, cotton, and peanuts. Two strains of fall armyworm exist that have significant physiological and behavioral differences, including resistance to pesticides and preference to different plant hosts. DNA sequence analysis have identified four haplotypes in the corn-strain that can be used to distinguish between fall armyworm populations from different geographical locations. These have been assigned Genbank accession numbers JN573287-JN573290. Technical Abstract: N/A |
