Research Project: Determinative Identification of Bacteria Associated with Sustainable Cropping Systems

Location: Citrus and Other Subtropical Products Research

Project Number: 6034-22000-046-007-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jul 1, 2016
End Date: Jun 30, 2022

Objective:
The objective of the current research project is to collect data on the role of various agricultural waste products on the isolation, identification, and culturing of facultative anaerobes associated with successful use of anaerobic soil disinfestation and odor mitigation of inputs.

Approach:
Research trials will be established in multiple locations in the region from which numerous data sets will be gathered, including levels of anaerobicity achieved, nutritional status, changes in microbial communities, crop yield, and pathogen and weed control.
