Objective:
To develop preharvest and postharvest integrated practices to extend the shelf-life of table grapes. Specific objectives include: 1) evaluate the effectiveness of fungicide spray programs in the vineyard for control of summer bunch rot before harvest and gray mold after harvest; 2) determine the effectiveness of preharvest fungicides in combination with postharvest ozone fumigation for control of gray mold in stored table grapes; and 3) determine the persistence of fungicide residues at harvest and during cold storage and the influence of ozone gas on their persistence.

Approach:
Various fungicide spray programs applied before harvest in a commercial vineyard will be evaluated for control of summer bunch rot in the field and postharvest decay in berries during cold storage. Integrated approaches consisting of selected preharvest fungicides and postharvest ozone fumigation will be evaluated for control of gray mold in storage. Berry residue content and residue persistence of the selected fungicides will be determined. In addition, the influence of ozone fumigation on fungicide residues will also be determined.
