Research Project: Molecular Characterization of Regulatory Factors Involved in Aspergillus flavus Development, Secondary Metabolism and Survival

Location: Food and Feed Safety Research

Project Number: 6054-42000-025-011-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2015
End Date: Aug 31, 2020

Objective:
Identify and characterize genetic regulatory networks involved in control of Aspergillus flavus development, secondary metabolism and survival.

Approach:
A number of global regulatory proteins have been identified that play a role in Aspergillus flavus development, secondary metabolism, and survival. In order to identify gene networks governed by these regulatory factors and better understand their role in modulating vital biological functions, additional studies including protein-protein and protein-deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) interaction, immunolocalization and transcriptomics will be performed.
