Objective:
To utilize the University of Kentucky Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and the FASS Ag Guidelines when conducting research on food-producing animals.
Approach:
ARS scientists will conduct research on ruminant animals using Cooperator’s research facilities. To avoid conflict, ambiguity and duplication of efforts regarding animal care protocols, reviews and record keeping, ARS and Cooperator desire to operate under a single set of rules/guidelines that all employees (ARS and Cooperator) will follow at Cooperator’s facilities.
