Research Project: The 4 Directions Projections

Location: Range Management Research

Project Number: 3050-12610-001-002-G
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: Apr 1, 2021
End Date: Dec 31, 2024

Objective:
To provide outreach and resources so that Native American community members may gain skills and knowledge to achieve their agricultural endeavors, ensure food security through sustainable practices, and enhance their health and wellness, thereby becoming contributing and thriving members of their communities.

Approach:
The Cooperator proposes delivering a series of approximately 19 new webinars that would be available free of charge to anyone interested in agriculture and ecology. The “4 Directions Projections” webinar series shares traditional and contemporary Indigenous knowledge to nurture people, revere places, and promote purpose. Each webinar will feature guest presenters from across the country. Participants will register online through the Cooperator's Continuing Education webpage, and they can participate in an online survey at the end of each webinar. Webinar topics include: “Seed Preservation and Protection”, “Restoration of Acoma Pueblo Food Systems”, “Pueblo Food Experience”, and “Columbia Plateau Traditional Foods."
